Teaching Chess And Life
I made alot of connections because the neighborhood I live in is rough.The parents that live bye me dont care how they live and dont care about their children.We have lots of gang bangers in our neighborhood.Like yesterday on August 21,2013, someone got shot because they tried to rob someone and then the person they tried to rob shot them and they didnt live.The parents just let their kids do what they want ,for example they running around outside with no shoes and their hair is never done.Our neighborhood is not safe.

Very thoughtful post, Talaya. You do an excellent job of connecting to the main character. I'm so sorry to hear about the shooting-- it is very difficult to grow up in a neighborhood that is unsafe. Something that you can add to this post-- do you have a mentor? That person could be a mentor from a program or even a family member or friend who looks out for you like Carlos had? Do you have a hobby that keeps you on track towards your goals? Excellent first reader response!
